Lights?? You think I'm a real lightweight, don't you?
Actually, I've seen you drink. I'll confess, I AM a lightweight!
I'll take your advice, Dr. Dave!
Um, if you're calling '2 beer Dave' AKA 'Big Baby Huey' a lightweight, you may be the cheapest date in town!
Thanks to all the staff and GRMers at the Mitty for a wonderful weekend from Mrs Aussiesmg and myself, we had a blast. Met a bunch of crazy Triumph guys from the GTA, ran around watching awesome race cars all weekend, listened to and watched those amazing Group 44 team members, non stop motorsports fun, we will now be regulars.
Keith Tanner and his team/family were amazing to talk to, if you ever get the chance jump on it. You NEED to see those headers in real life.
Everything was worth the effort, we hauled our challenger down, if you weren't there you can see it in Gainesville. Thanks to Pat and crew for the assist on the engine issue.

Bugger, it got stripped out again. Hold on......it takes a little while for the different servers to refresh.
And fixed.
Awesome--thanks, Slefain!
One small correction: The 25th anniversary was for Grassroots Motorsports, Classic Motorsports’ sister magazine and sponsor of the infield Speedfest activities.
I think you did a great job capturing the flavor of the event.

Fixed, should show up in the 12:15 site refresh (procedures around here, lots of procedures, James May would like it).
I can't say I enjoyed the long tow or the Atlanta traffic, but it was a fun weekend. Thanks for everyone who stopped by to say hi! The GRM crew was just as welcoming as ever and it's always good to meet people in person. Plus I got to see aussiesmg's tattoo!
For me, the highlight of the racing was the Le Mans "enduro". I didn't grow up drooling over Group 44 cars (I'd never even heard of them before GRM/CM bought that GT6), but having the chance to poke around a 956 and then see it on the track with an R8? Oooooooo.

Ooh, complete with links. Thanks!

Thanks for all who attended. It felt so right to have so many Challengers at our 25th party. Sorry I was running so hard, but I am so used to things going wrong, I just couldn't believe it when things went so right. Weather wasn't perfect, but we got through it okay.
Next year is Lotus and BRE Datsuns. Peter Brock will be our main man. Same time, same place. Start planning now!

Thanks Tim, you guys did an amazing job!!
The G44 Dinner thursday with the cars on display was great, the parade laps with Bob leading the way in the V12 XKE. Sitting in the pub Saturday night talking with Bob and Lanky was priceless
I still had a smile on my face after the 17 hour tow home to the Great White North.

In!
+1!
+1 more! Mitty weekend was best weekend of 2009 by far!
Just recieved the new issue of CM. I didn't realize the E-Type had to be brought back over here from the museum in England.
Well done. Now I'm really glad I made it to the Mitty, since I'm still kicking myself for missing it at the Runoffs in `75...

Sorry you missed it. I didn't. It was just as awesome as you likely imagine.
Sometimes it's cool being an old guy.

I guess I was 13yrs old...couldn't drive yet, couldn't persuade my non-enthusiast familly that it'd be a good vacation. I think the first time I actually made it to Road Atlanta was the `79 spring IMSA.
Did you see the BP race in `74 as well? How did whatshisname in the Corvette get by Bob? In the Mitty program interview, Bob said it was the one loss he remembers most of all.
