Any good? An affordable one with acceptable mileage just popped up and I need The Hive's opinion...
My opinion...
In the 90s the Kias were 3rd tier quality but priced accordingy.
In the 00s the Kia were 2nd tier quality but priced accordingly.
In the 10s the Kia achieved 1st tier quality.
Just be sure this is priced accordingly.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of the vehicles from this time frame of the Kia brand. Add to that the odd styling of the Amanti and I would require a very low price.
The bitterness of low quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price has departed...
I've had to work on some Korean cars of that vintage due to poor choices made by distant relatives and friends. I have drawn a line in the sand...
As John said, '09 was juuusssttt before Kia quality really started getting good.
That being said, when I'm shopping for cheap cars, I always ask "how long will it take for me to get $xxxxx worth of utility/enjoy ment out of this car?"
I find that the payback period tends to be pretty short. If you buy the Amanti for $2000 and drive it for 1.5 years, did you get your money's worth?

Why? They're stupid easy to work on. I'd much rather that then some pos chrysler, ford or german car.
