Is Brust's "I have a confession to make" thread the first locked thread on the GRM forums?

Oh yeah, forgot about that one.
I believe the ever eloquent ramblings of Cordbell were locked from time to time. Could be wrong though.
I seem to recall that Dan said he was going to walk up to Margie at the Challenge and introduce himself as worksgarage.
Man oh man, that takes me back.

Enquiring minds wish to know. Can someone provide a summary?
Worksgarage was a troll who took up residence at GRM for a few weeks. He took an immediate dislike to a few members and just about everyone took and immediate dislike to him.

Yeah, sorry Margie. I know it wasn't a pleasant trip.
I told J-man that at the '04 Challenge I kinda knew who most of you guys (staff) were but no one had a clue who I was. When Margie was sitting in a chair with a squirming little girl on her lap, her left hand tied up yanking a little boy into place, I WAS going to introduce myself with a firm grip on her right hand, saying "Hi, I'm WorksGarage".
Common sense kicked in and once again I didn't get my butt kicked by a girl in a public place.
What would prompt a thread to be locked vs. deleted?
A recent deletion I recall was the "don't tase me bro" thread. That was a good one!
If I'm the one doing the moderating I usually just lock it, unless it's gone so far down the troll-hole it really has no redeeming value. The other thing that can factor in is if the troll gets himself in enough trouble to get deleted from the DB. If so, all his posts go with him.
I forgot about worksgarage. Does anybody remember some Protege guy from Canada? I think he got banninated as well.
Sorry if it was offensive- I was trying to be funny and now I'm being compared to a total douche. Just delete the thing if you feel that way. I wasn't even the first with the parody man!
Nah, you weren't offensive. I only locked it because there was a dupe and I was trying to funnel the traffic to one post instead of having it split. No problems.
You'll need to log in to post.
