Au contraire right back at you! I'm currently reading this excellent book about the founding ont he Indy 500. Blood and Smoke by Charles Leerhsen. In there it talkes about the miss-billed first race in 1895. There was a previous race about 20 years prior in Millwakie where two steam vehicles raced. And as upuntil around 1910 Electric and steam powered 'cars' were both outselling gasoline powered cars in the US, I think it's fair to inculde that race. In fact there were 2 electric cars in the 1895 race, although neither had the range to complete the distance, they entered anyway

Or the other version. They are pretty much interchangeable.

Really? I've seen nothing but NASA-love here. I'm not sure what you mean.
As frustrating as it is to deal with SCCA at times, I have to ask, have you not made a mistake before?
Did you try contacting the folks in charge of the website to see of they are aware of their potential oversight?
Are you actually an SCCA member? Maybe try talking with the local region's Solo folks to get an idea where you might run.

I was an SCCA Member, for three years. I let it lapse a few years ago after not having any concerns handled or addressed whatsoever, including safety. Every AX club at PIR face not getting to run after they let a Snell 1985 helmet through tech.
In Southern California we have two "old car" options:
Up to 1968 and 1969 to 1985.

In Hist2 we have made allowances for moving up to 14 inch rims to give people access to Falken 615K or Dunlop Star spec tires.
If more people would give it a try we have a shot at getting this looked at on more than a regional bases.
Light up the Spitfires and get them back on the autocross courses.
