Ok really crappy picture. But it is a 95 F150 with 5.8ltr and tow package and 203k miles. $1000 and drove it home. It needs a few things. Rear tires, it pulls a little to the right, old window tint removed and few other little things.

i had a 95. i miss it. it was a short cab 4.9 I6 with a stick. long bed, too. i just hated the short cab. good score. enjoy the 12MPG until you screw with it a bit though.

In reply to 93EXCivic: Sweet! Some of us believe tjose are the last of the GOOD ONES! I have a '95 myself, SuperCab Flareside 4x4 with the tow package but a 5.0. Hang onto it, it'll serve you well and there are so many avenues to take with mods, I wont even get into it here, I'm sure you can imagine.

My vote is mild Pre-Runner!

I recently brought home Clifford the big red truck. A 2000 GMC Sierra 2500 6.0L.

It's also known as the fuel murderer thanks to it's 4.10:1 gear.

Hated to let Ol' Blue go but it just wasn't being used which as we all know isn't good for a vehicle. With everything else in the driveway and garage it would sit for months between being driven. And I did let some maintenance lapse on it. Trans & diff oil last changed ~120,000 miles ago w/ 203,000 now. Too many vehicles and projects to take care of. Glad to see it go to someone that will give it the treatment it deserves and will use it.

Where the HECK do you guys find full sized trucks that work for $1000?

Good buy, seriously.

depends on goals and requirements. start with a OBD scan and be sure to veiw all the sensors during a drive in live data mode. you can usually find dead spot in the TPS, and odd readings from the 02 sensors. once its as good as factory, the start upgrading. higher flowing cats will lower EGT at the rear sensor(s), thereby cheating the ECM into leaning out the mix a bit. i picked up 2 mpg hwy with a set of ebay high flow cats. K and N drop in air filter is worth it if for no other reason than to not have to buy hte paper one anymore. skip the intake though, its a waste, just get the drop in filter, and add some flex piping to the airbox inlet and run it to the fender or behind the headlight. see if the silencer/restrictor is still in the air inlet, too, and remove it if so.

then grab a cheap AFR gauge with sensor off ebay and install it, along with an adjustable FPR. ford had a VERY odd way of feuling these things, pig rich at idle, and lean up top. makes for crap power delivery and poor city mileage. adjust the FPR till you get a nice 14.5-15.0 AFR at full throttle in 3rd gear, then check your down low, low load crusing AFRs.

opening up the rest of the exhaust system is easy power and no hit to economy, plus the 5.8 does actually sound good with proper exhaust, but factory manifolds will cost you in the sound dept (higher pitch than with shorty headers).

remove the throttle body and check to make sure the intake and TB didn't core shift. if they did, and the outlet of the TB doesn't line up with the inlet of the intake, grab the die grinder and make it so. this DRAMATICALLY improved idle quality and cylinder distribution on my I6 AND my 5.0 trucks. you could actually see the difference in the plugs before, and after they all looked the same.

lower the thermostat temp, but not too much. go to a 160 and youll never get into closed loop, costing you mileage, but dropping from a 195 to a 185 makes a 31 degree difference in intake temps. (according to interwebz, but i agree based on my experience). remove the water line that goes to the TB and plug it. it heats your TB and prematurley wears your TPS and rises intake temps. shes a speed density truck (99%) so its all about the MAP sensor and its relative pressure.

remove the clutch fan. if it has it, and switch to electric fans from a 98 taurus. grab two cheap summit controllers to control the fans. this was worth 3 mpg and about 20 HP in my explorer with a 5.0, and about the same MPG but 10 hp in my 4.0 explorer.

add trans cooler. a big one. this actually helps the trans go into lockup faster, saving fuel on longer trips above 45mph.

inflate the front tires to about 7psi above whats listed on the door. keep the rears the same. almost no ride quality penalty, but it handles better and gets slightly better mileage.

check coil, if it still has thesingle coil, and replace if it shows ANY signs of wear. flame front on these is VERY slow due to slower intake velocity of the larger "TRUCK" intake, but a good coil and quality plugs helps alot.

pull the injectors and have them professionally cleaned and flow tested. replace any weak ones cause one hot cylinder will screw with that sides o2 sensor and rise pulse width for the WHOLE BANK. so you end up with one good cylinder and 3 rich ones, not just a lean cylinder.

i have more if your interested. i have had a dozen EEC-IV and EEC-V trucks and cars, and know them well.

Pretty much everything but the OBD stuff at the beginning. In fact, I don't think the '95 can do the live data display either, I think that's '96 and newer.

You just have to have an OBD1 scanner that has datastream capabilities, like a SnapOn brick.

What year model exploder was than fan swap on? More details? I've got a 97 5L tow pig I'd love to pick up a few mpg on.

Great truck! I keep lookong for a good 250 diesel of the same vintage. Doubt I'll see it for that that kind of money though.
