A company car! I don't even travel much for work, he just got it for me to make my 84 mi/day commute in and it includes a gas card!
I'm not a big Solstice guy, but as far as company cars go, this thing is a riot.
And in case any of you were wondering...
Very nice, I would not mind one of those from work myself.
Hat flips... moustache twirls... SWEET!

what do you do that you get a company car? where can I send my resume? ;)
Daaaannnnggg. Where do I mail a resume?
I'm an engineer. It's a small company and my boss is the owner. He apparently appreciates me.
I recently took on additional supervisory responsibilities, and I guess this was his way of thanking me.
You must have caught him in an awkard situation with a woman other than his wife.
Maybe the girls name was Bristol...
Nice score, make sure to tell your boss he is on our top 50 list of cool guys to work for.

Awesome score, you must be great in the sack to be getting a company car like that out of the blue! I'm quite jealous. Let us know when the next job opening comes along, I'll title my resume with something like, "Motivated engineer, will work for Solstice."

Wow, congrats. That is a nice perk.
wow, I was not expecting GXP! that thing is one of my favorite cars ever!

So with it being a company car and all... Are you still allowed to autocross it?

That was one of the firts things I asked him! I should have waited a while though. He's not a car guy, and I think he thinks autocrossing = road racing. He quickly said "No, my insurance won't cover it". But I think it would, or at least I know mine does, because it's not considered racing.
I'll have to work on him about htat, because I'm currently without an autocross car, so it would work well for that. Are they any good in stock class? I'm a little out of the loop.
Slap the company logo on the side and tell him its a business venture.
That's probably going to be the approach I take with it, although we only sell through our distributors, and not a retail product, so I'm not sure he will feel like he needs to advertise in that way, but it's worth a try.
Hey, I just thought of what I should have titled this post - "Miata is NOT the answer" !
Aw what the hell, I commute 134 miles a day and use my own car and get no gas card.
Autocrossing is not racing? From what I understood, your Insurance Company sure thinks it is!

My GM calls those "Bullseyes"
And all my boss does to surprise me is lops on more work with his default deadline: "need this done by COB tomorrow"

Speak for yourself. Mine doesn't consider it racing - I asked.
My boss gave me the keys to the LS1 Miata along with the company credit card for gas today. But he's expecting it back, dammit.

The real question here is, does he expect the tires to also come back?
