Regular ones "work" but the perch height is wrong. The only ones that have the correct perch height would be OEM ones.

I have a set of Ground Control perches and spring adapters for a Protege5, they might let you use a non-OE strut on the MSP. I'm going to be offline for a week, but drop me a line if you're interested.
