From what I have seen, North of Tampa gets cheaper and cheaper until everyone is just homeless.

aka 'bama
Congrats! I did the TransAm deal back at the turn of the century. I'd like to get back into it again someday when the kids are older.
If you find your self in need of a competent weekender fly-in guy...just holler. I'd like to keep my foot in the door or finger on the pulse, if you will.
Looks like they're all Howe cars for now...interesting. (I was going to ask what chassiseses you were running, but perused the website)
Pasco is flat out full of snowbirds right now and consists of mostly trailer parks. Hernando is rednecks and mermaids. Sumpter is mostly country folk/big truck crowd. If high speed internet is something you want check for.availability before buying.
I would love to hear the story on how that kid ran the race team into the ground.. but other wise, congratulations!

this would require a whole new thread. It is definitely a story to be told

the last time I was in the area was early 2k's when I picked up an mr2... i'd been there a few other times in HS for various reasons in the late 90's... I've never seen so many ambulances running down the street... seemed every 5 min we'd have to pull over to let one buy... also LOTS of caddys...
that's all I got... but awesome man :)

mermaids FTW

Haha. Tonight. I will get a beer, my laptop, and some music going for this story.

I hate to leave Texas as I like it other than the neighborhood I live in and the summer heat. I look forward to being close to a beach again so I can knock the rust off my surfing skills

You'd be surprised! I've gone probably 6-8 times this year before work. I get out there at 6 am and in the office in downtown tampa by 9. www.gulfster.com is great for your surf reports. You also have a ton of fishing, skiing/wakeboarding, sailing, camping at your disposal.

Same here. Hell I just want to check out the scene.

Unless your work is up there, I would recommend against this. Not much to do, far from everything, hotter, traffic, etc. Stay closer to the bay.
Hopefully you'll be on the east side of Tampa, less traffic and easy access to I-75 and I-4. The Brandon area isn't bad, reasonable housing and good schools. I live in the Lakeland area about 30 minutes to the east.
In reply to Enyar:
Yes, I guess I would be surprised. I've been in that area many, many times and the size of the waves have always been between a pool and lake Erie.
I'll be down there in a couple weeks so I'll be sure to check it out again.

Not sure what this crowd is like, but I've perused their classifieds before.

Enyar can probably give you the best spots but it is all dependent on the wind. NW or SW winds bring good short swells to different sites. NONE of which will give you a long ride but you will be able to get up.
If you have any spare time when you are down, let me know.

I'll be spending most of my time down a little south of Sarasota, but I'll let you know if/when I'm up in that area.
You'll need to log in to post.
