I was napping in the airport in Buenos Aeries when somebody snuck off with my backpack containing all my car keys. Back home in the states now but have no keys to either my '98 Jeep XJ or 2K2 Chevy Vette. I thought I had a second set for both of them but I can't find them. How do you get new keys made?

VIN, proper ID and title, and a dealership. They can cut from code, and most likely will have to intoduce the new keys to the security system.

Look harder for the spares. The above will certainly cost $4-500, more if you need remote fobs.

The XJ should be just a regular key , not sure on the vette but if I had to guess there is some kind of theft deterrent.

I think the vette has a passive key programming available, aka no Tech2 needed. But you are going to need the car "on" for over an hour.

Cherokee should be a standard black headed key, no programming needed.
