My '94 Geo Prizm is in need of some work. Probably needed about $600-$700 in mechanical work....including labor, as I just wouldn't have time or skill to do it myself. Plus the wife hates the thing, it ain't much to look at.... I was all set to take it to a local guy to have it fixed up. With the small stuff fixed, I have no doubt it's got tons of life in it.
Came across an ad on CL. I tried to tell myself I didn't want it, but I couldn't help it.... '96 Volvo GLT wagon. 110k miles, appears fairly well kept. It's an auto, which is a real negative. But it runs fantastic and they're cool as hell. Picked it up for $1500. I couldn't refuse. It came with snow tires only. Picking up a set of used turbo "Cuisinart" wheels/tires tonight.
Anyone want a good Geo Prizm???
Nice, ever since buying my 740 last year I've been in love. I like the tail lights on the 850s much better I admit.
lol there is something fun about the tall lights on the post 700/900 wagons lol...
looks good for $1500... whats with the geo?

I love the tail lights on these things too. I wish the color of the car were something other than the tealish color it is, but beggars can't be choosers. I'm hoping the new rims will give it a nice stance.
The Prizm is a damn good car. Drove it all winter and it never left me stranded. It's got a bunch of "little things". Cracked exhaust manifold... has a sputter around 2000-3000rpm (seems like spark is breaking down...it revs real smooth the rest of the way)... in sub 30 degree weather the power steering pump groans and the alternator belt squeals at start up (doesn't do it when it's warm). It's also ugly as sin...clearcoat issues, dents/scratches, headliner missing, etc... It's one of those cars that with some time and skills to do the work themselves, it's a perfect "beater". I literally found the Volvo the night before the Geo was supposed to be fixed.
only asked because our '91 prizm killed the auto trans... not a good one to be found in the junkyard... ended up buying a car from a friend... he'd bought it and the spark plug fell apart in the engine and killed the engine... so good trans lol...
I want to say ours had a cracked exhaust manifold also (i know my mr2's all did)
Nice find. I've been working on my '96 850 Turbo wagon and it's really easy to work on. It's in worse shape than yours but is black and was much cheaper. Well, much cheaper to buy; I'm about $1300 in parts into it at this point.
