That is sick. If I had money to burn I'd definitely sign up for one. With only 10 being made I doubt you'd get one even if you have the cash though. 

I love it.

I get that its a vintage recreation, but I'm surprised it's only  similar in speed to a GT3 car. It has more downforce, much less weight and significantly more power.

Just buy a C8.

Super cool. Then there's the oddly specific, yet vague: "Lotus hasn't confirmed which manufacturer's engine will be in the Type 66 but says that it will be a "period-representative V-8 pushrod." Would have to be modified to run the original CanAm, the rules called for the rear tires to have fenders, this car has open wheel wells.  Pretty car.

I raced at Laguna Seca in the historic races in the early 1980s and the original cars were just amazing - Porsche 917s, McLarens with big blocks that you'd feel in your chest every time they went by the pit wall......

I wonder what the life expectancy is when you no longer need to be a carefully selected race driver who came up through the usual school of experience becomes a rich older guy whose sole qualification to own and drive a car like that is the ability to write a very large cheque.

That's where the 'filthy rich' part of my original post comes into play.  If money matters, of course there are many better choices.

Not sure I agree with greater downforce.  Modern homologated GT3 cars are serious race cars with lots of custom made bodywork that's been refined in the windtunnel.

But damn this thing is cool no matter what.

I was thinking that if that much downforce is created on the rear of the car without a corresponding increase in the front, wouldn't the result be imbalance and corresponding instability? One great thing about modern ground effects is that it is largely generated around the center of the car. Or am I an ignoramus?
