I also see an Elite and Eclat in the back, which are quite rare, I'm guessing because people usually don't even start hopeless forever-projects to save them
At the cost of cars in Thailand, You don't see too many projects that are sitting around unfinished.
It also costs a lot to import the parts, ends up around +40% after tax, and add shipping. Plenty of cut corners because of this, lots of used parts reconditioned instead of new, same struggles as anywhere else. Projects are around and can be found.
Facebook marketplace in BKK is great fun though. Subi swapped Fiat 500's, JZ BMWs, JZ Mercs.. but a truly tragic amount of those are automatics. Friend of mine is selling an E36 1/2JZ hybrid for ~$6.5k, and it's stick. Not everything costs the moon here. JDM parts are cheap, we get lots of discarded stuff from Japan.
A new Lotus Exige 350 Sport is $272k....
