DW's new S60 (5 months old, ~1800 miles) has developed am intermittent low speed squeal from a passenger side wheel. Loud enough to hear from that side with the window closed. Related to wheel speed; unaffected by steering, brakes, or revs. Mostly happens when cold, and seems to go away after driving a few miles. Doesn't sound or feel like surface rust on the rotors.
Obviously I can and will take it back to the dealer because warranty, but I wondered if anybody had ideas, because that's kind of inconvenient to do. I plan to pull the wheels and look, but haven't had a chance yet.

Brake pad hanging up until you get a little heat into the system?

That's what I thought too, but it doesn't sound like that, and it doesn't change under braking; it just goes away after a bit. It sounds like a seal (not the aquatic mammal type) squealing. I'll have to pull the wheels and rotate the rotors by hand and see if I can diagnose. Thanks!
Sounds like maybe there is a seal somewhere with no lube on the lip. Put another few thousand miles on it and see if it disappears, or if you take it in, make sure you take a service writer along on a test drive to show him the noise. Otherwise, the visit will be wasted, most likely.

My guess is axle seal. Seen it on the AWD Cadillacs a few times
