Lug Bolt to study conversion for my VW

I want to swap over from the lug bolts (12mm) to studs. I'm using spacers and need to deal with the extra width. Suggested method or brand? Red Loctite with the screw in style? Drill and press fit?

Oops, can a mod fix the title to "stud" conversion?

I got mine from T3Technics (or something like that), he is the wheel whisperer for VW vans. They were screwed in and I have not given them a thought since. 

All the stud conversions I've used on my German cars (VW, Audi, BMW, Porsche) screw in, they work fine.  I usually use red loctite and follow the manufacturer instructions for installation.

Yeah, red loctite seems to be the go to. The folks on FB VW Racers Group are recommending studs from Motorsport Hardware.

Both of our racecars have this lug stud conversion. I followed the included directions. Very happy with them after 20+ races.

The people on the FB VW Racers Group all say red locktite. Why should I not use red?

I always just zipped a knurled m12 arp stud in.
