Is it an inline add on? Could you remove it and still put the harness back together? Ill bet its some add on device that alters the MAF signal for more power/more MPG.
Take it out. Probably.
That looks like some cheater thing to mess with the MAP signal.
If it was legit it would have part #s on it.
It is harness plug that is plugged in between the MAF. I didn't try to unplug it and hook up the factory harness yet. May do that this evening
Probably one of the infamous "ebay chip" modules - take a 1 cent resistor, stick it in a 1 dollar potting box, sell it for $75 claiming it will give you 30 more horsepower and 10 more miles to the gallon. These used to be all over the place - now the worthless performance module scammers have moved to sticking an OBD2 connector in a potting box instead.

Yes it would. Likely a lowest of the low end eB*y so-called 'performance chips' as MSM, etc, say. I could be wrong tho... If you disconnect it make sure that the battery is disconnected before and after for 5-10 minutes (then let it re-learn for 100 miles or so). Keep us posted on your 4runr.
It's used to stop the ecu from from throwing a cel and/or going into limp mode when the air injection system fails. Fairly common problem on the 2UZ.
