Does anyone know if fiat spider wheels fit a biturbo? (or anything else available cheap) Someone offered to sell me one for $200, but they want to keep the wheels. From what i could find out, unless fiat spider wheels will fit, it wouldnt even be worth if for how cheap is it, becasue i could get a way better one for not much more than what a set of new wheels that would fit would cost.

For insurance, could you get "Collector Car" insurance? Dirt cheap, agreed value, restrictions on driving and storage, but would probably fit your style. Hagerty's, etc. My son has a show quality 66 Caddy convertible, pays much less insurance than my 96 Sentra.

I dont think that will work for a daily driver.

Im rather curious to see how a biturbo will work out as a daily driver. My milano has been fine, and most people said that couldnt be done, so who knows. I saw a couple of biturbos in person, and now i want one. lol I have never seen a running biturbo, but then i have only seen 4 running milanos other than mine, so i guess its not that much different.

When I had my '85 Biturbo, I daily drove it. It was very comfy and absolutely not an attention getter. Mine had weather sealing issues so it got damp and musty the day after it rained. But I had less mechanical issues with it when I drove it every day than when it sat.

I ended up trading it for a mint Spitfire 1500 that I couldn't stand driving every day.

Sorry Travis.. I missed your post. yes, the Fiat 124 rims will fit the biTurbo. the maser rims are a common upgrade for Fiat owners.

and yes they are high on my list of cars to own. I bet a VQ35 swap would make them more reliable and faster

I'm pretty sure you're the first person EVER to utter that sentence.

Only on GRM...

And probably will be the last.

I didn't read the whole thread so maybe it's already been mentioned but....... does anybody remember the Biturbos getting turned in under the cash for clunkers program? If not here's a video.

wonder if that maserati ran long enough to melt the silica in the engine?

There 3 Milanos were also turned in for C4C.

I love the Alfa, but like every car I have ever loved, it's time will come. It seems I keep cars for about a year, I have a feeling the Milano will last longer than that, but I'd be very surprised if it was around for more than 3 years.

From what I've read, the engine itself is tough as proverbial nails. The main issues are electrical (I can re-wire it) and with the carbs (the FI models were pretty reliable) so I'd build an intake manifold and Megasquirt it.

not saying the engine was crap... Italians do know how to build an engine. It is all those pesky electrons that have trouble with.

I kinda want a Biturbo too, I wouldnt do an engine swap, and there are a few really expensive engine parts that make it seem a bit scary. Other than that i cant see it being too bad, if I got one I wouldnt be expecting it to work all the time anyway. lol

The Biturbo I looked at last year is STILL sitting there.

I made yet another fair offer $700, but was declined again "we can't let it go for that little."

Sadly it is going to sit there and rot. Even more sadly, I am Biturbo-less still.

I thought I was the only SA person here.

Take Bandera inside the loop, turn right @ thrifty insurance, it is back in there.

I just got word from my spy network there is a Biturbo in Universal City that hasn't moved in 4 months. Details coming.

Edit: I'm way out NW (or is it just W now? we just moved) Outside 1604 going out Culebra.

Lame. The crackhead of an owner wants $3500 for it and it doesn't run and has lots of cowl/windshield rust.

"$3500 is what I paid for it last year, I have to get that back out of it."

wtf is wrong with people?

Vigo

Thats stupid, i hate when people say that. People dont understand that letting something sit in the weather and rust further for a year means it is worth LESS, and what you paid to begin with doesnt necessarily have ANY connection to what it's worth.
