Nice Paul here is what i want to do when money allows in time..
LopRacer wrote: Nice. Just make sure you pay the premium for a DOM tubing cage, while the ESW cages are half the price they are not race legal with SCCA or NASA for wheel to wheel racing. Not to mention they are alot safer. It will pay off in the long run at resale to have a legal cage, and it could be competative in NASA's GTS class if you set it up right.
Much appreciated for the info!
does anyone know if i will run into any problems mounting this into my racecar? Its for motorcycle applications. I know i can get everything up and working, the only concern i have is the RPM reading. If it's suppose to measure RPM from a V-twin, how would it gauge RPM from a 6 cylinder?

Dakota Digital makes a converter. Costs about $80.

Or directly on their site. Summit sometimes has it for $75.

Might want to contact them first, and make sure it'll work in your application. I know it'll work on 4-6-8, but i'm not 100% sure about twins.
But beer is always good.
Check out their gauge packages while you're at it. They might have something that may work better for you, depending on what you're looking for.
dont want to spend a whole lot on it. The Trail Tech one is like $115, im sure automotive ones will be more than that
Acewell makes a "universal" style one. I'm planning on getting one of their round ones for my bike.

The way to get the OBX units to last seems to be to take them apart and reassemble/retorque with threadlock.
I've seen people use them successfully with those measures being taken on the front end.
If you want to step up and still stay cheap, see if MFactory makes one for you.
Nice. Went up to Tennessee this past Sunday in the ZAV to pick up my VR6.
Went and got the trans on Saturday
Motor sitting in the shop. Have to rip the Torque Converter off, put it on a stand and start ripping it apart
Let me know how you do with the OBX diff, I was thinking of picking one up for my Golf. The other option is a Peloquin LSD, but they seem to be a bit more expensive.

UPDATE: Got the majority of the remaining parts yesterday. All thats missing is the rad with fans, starter and rear motor mount, which I can find all on Ebay or junkyard.
Accomplished alot today. Got the dash in, all the wiring inside is done, top end disassembled and re-assembled with new parts, cleaned alot of the bay up and touched it up with some fresh gloss white paint.
Continuing more tomorrow...
