I need to replace the thermostat on a 2007 Mazda 3 and wondering what coolant options are acceptable for topping off the system?

The factory spec is Mazda FL-22.

Thanks

I'd figure it's Asian blue.

When I had my NC I checked the Mazda and Ford OE FL22 standards against all the parts store stuff and ended up with Zerex Asian Blue.

On the forums it was claimed that both Asian Blue and Asian Green were ultimately OK to use.

I remember the fluid in my Mazda being dark green. I did some cross referencing and used something from motor craft I think. It's been years now.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll give the local ford dealer in town a call tomorrow.

Maybe I can get a deal since my kid works there 😬

I was able to get the last gallon of the Ford coolant. It was tucked away in the back corner of the parts department covered in dust.

"Bittering Agent" ???  Does that make it the IPA of the coolant world ?
