JG has. It turns out they were more of a pain than they should be, and he wasn't able to find a good step-by-step guide to the job.

It classic lemonade-making fashion, he decided to write one of his own.

I'm at 30K now & have plenty of life left. They have been getting noisier in the cold though.

Let us know how the car responds to the EBCs. A lot of MS3 guys have been running Hawks so I'm curious as to how these would compare.

I'm excited about using them in anger. My biggest complaint with the old pads was it seemed like heat made them really inconsistent. The fade wasn't particularly bad, but once they got hot you'd just get a different pedal each time. I'm hoping the Yellows bring some consistency to the table.

For some inexplicable reason, the 2004 mazda 3 i sold a few months ago NEVER needed front brakes from new to 130k.. i did do the backs at like 115k or somewhere around there..

I got 50k on mine, haven't swapped em yet. I'm thinkin' DBA rotors and yellows for spring.

My MS3 has 55k on it and doesn't need brakes yet, but it will soon. I have no idea what pads to get. I'd like to see how the EBCs pan out. I'm leaning towards DBA or Centric for rotors, Motul RBF600 brake fluid, and maybe some Stop Tech stainless steel brake lines.

Our 3s hatch has 75k on it, and still at least 10k miles left in the front brakes, more in the rears. I'm impressed enough with the stock pad compound for daily driver use that I'll probably just use it again when they finally wear out, instead of my usual DD standby pad of Hawk HPS

After 8-10 auto-x's, 1 track day and DD i replaced mine at around 35k (had around 1/8th on the front over 5/8 rear.)

Now being a mechanic by trade this was not my 1st encounter with odd brake setup's.

Replaced with Hawk HPS and turned the rotors and i am happy with the results but it took a little while to get used to the lack of initial bite when cold but overall breaking is a lot more constant.

Mine had just broken 20k and the stock pads still had plenty of meat left on them. I'll shoot a pic when I feel like putting on pants and walking out to the garage. Like I said before, my main complaint was inconsistency, not fade.

The EBCs seem nice so far, although they've only done grocery duty. Seems like they require less initial pedal pressure, but have a more progressive bite, which is one of the reasons to go to "upgraded" pads to begin with, so score one for truth in advertising. We've been happy with EBC in the past, and there's no reason to believe this experience will be any different.

Hands still hurt, though.
