We were largely successful in our American Endurance Racing debut about a month ago, and this weekend we're putting our turbocharged Miata to the test once again at our home track. We've entered the the ChampCar Endurance Series Presented by RVA Graphics & Wraps Marathon Coach Daytona Beach Enduro. The race will be a 14-hour affair starting on Saturday morning …

And we’re on track! Currently 5th in class out of 13.
Oops... forgot to turn our Racepak CL1 telemetry system on. Had to make a quick pit stop for that.

Here’s our beautiful steed in the garage last night.
It’s a full track this weekend. We’re sharing a pit stall with two other teams.
Just restarted after a fairly long caution.
Still running! Ed just went out during a caution; word in the pits is that somebody flipped a Miata somewhere.
We’re currently running in 5th place in Class B.
Good luck, I'm rooting for you from work. I'm close enough to hear the cars on the track when I went outside for my lunch break.
Just hopped out of the car in 4th place. Heat management is still an issue, but so far so good!
As long as the feet stay here most of the time we’re in good shape.
Quick pit box comparison. We’ll let you guess which one is ours.
Looks like rain! We’re actually super excited for showers. They’ll keep our car cool, and our soft suspension should be much much better.
Wayne is back in the car. Sitting in 5th in class at the moment. Under yet another caution. Looks like it’s going to start raining soon.
And they’ve red flagged the race for lightning.
What do they charge for a spectator? Looks like you would have the run of the place.
It’s $20 to get in as a spectator.
Race is about to restart!
And it’s worth mentioning that we haven’t had a proper wastegate since before lunchtime. The actuator clip fell off, and then the fitting on the actuator fell off, so here’s what our Miata is currently doing:
0-5500 RPM: No boost
5500-7000 RPM: Boost creep to the point where we hit 12 psi.
We’re still running! 3rd in class.
So we’re 7 hours in and a freaking Biturbo is still in the race. Just saying.
Update: they just pushed the Maserati off pit row.
Miles just hopped in the car. Still in 3rd place! :)
