Hello all! A quick question on Mercedes diagnostic software: a coworker purchased a C200 and is looking at options for diagnostics. I'm sure that someone here recommended something, but I can't find it. Any tips?
If it was a BMW, I'd be suggesting INPA, but don't know anything about the Mercedes stuff...

The software you want is called "STAR" and you need a laptop and an interface called a MUX. There are several versions out there, all chinesium. Best I can offer you is that you go search all the info you can get on MHH Auto forums and go from there. I got mine from Ali Express but I would suggest getting something from somewhere with a return policy because Ali Express was a real pain for reasons.
I was able to build myself a fully working cloned laptop with all online/offline coding and a proper C4 MUX but it was not easy. There is no documentation with the software or hardware you get and its a lot harder to get working than some other OEM softwares.
