The advertised range sounds pretty optimistic, but it still looks like it would be fun to drive. https://electrek.co/2021/04/23/remember-when-messerschmitt-built-that-weird-3-wheeler-its-back-as-an-electric-car/

LOL at the side-hinged opening without a canopy... Presumably they're going to offer it with a top eventually?
At about half that price, it would be an interesting toy. But you can buy a lot of gas with 16 grand.

I was wondering about that too, it really needs a bubble top.
Original Messerschmitts had a Perspex - Plexiglass bubble top , another model had a canvas folding top ,
Also the KR500 was a 4 wheeler with a 500cc motor , the regular KR175-KR200 had 3 wheels and the smaller motor , all were 2 stroke Sachs motors.....
I wonder how this is registered , is it a motorbike or a car ? and which drivers license do you need ?
Since it has 3 wheels, I believe in most states it would be classified as a motorcycle. Another possibility is that with the low horsepower level it could be classified as a scooter, which has less restrictive licensing requirements. However, that's just speculation and again depends on your state regulations.
Whenever I see a Messerschmitt I'm reminded of the 1985 Terry Gilliam movie Brazil.

Honestly? This is a huge letdown for what it could have been.
3-wheelers have some unique options that 4-wheelers dont, but with a whole 5Kw and a 1.5kW battery it has no power to take advantage of it. It is nearly the same cost as the Acrimoto, except the latter has more than 10 times the battery and motor power. It's a waste unless the new 'Schmitt does something to make it a fun 3-wheeled go-kart.
