My first car, at the age of 15 in 1994 was a 1960 MGA. I daily drove it in high school when it wasn't snowing, restored it, and then life changed and it sat for years without being driven as I wasn't near it and had no place to store it. It was in my Mom's garage, then my stepfather's garage, and was last registered in 2002. I just bought a house on Thursday and Mom and Stepdad towed it down from MA to PA to take up residence with us.
It is so great to have it back. It needs some love until I can drive it from the long layup (bleed brakes and clutch, grease, change oil, etc) and a good bath to get rid of the several years of dust, but knowing that I'll be able to use and enjoy it again just has me in a great mood
Anyone else have stories of getting a car back after years without it?
I love hearing stories like this!
How did you end up with an MGA as a 15 year old (especially knowing that it was 1994)?
That's definitely a sweet highschool car! My dad just bought a '58 with 50k on the clock, can't wait to bribe him so I can take my gf for a ride :)

Yeah, way-cool highschool car. And it's gotta be worth considerably more than whatever you could afford to pay for it at age 15.
Awesome that you've got her back, too!

Wow!!! Awesome that you bought a house, awesome that it has a garage (looks like a good size) and awesome that the MG is now residing there. I hope she fires up without much drama.
At some point I'll e-mail you and catch up. Plenty going on around here...

Cool, lets enter it in Lemons ;) J/K
Need better pics! Glad to see you've got it with you again though.
Excellent!
I bought my first street car, a '56 MGA when I was 16 (but that was in 1967!). Cost me about $200.
The following year, I bought a '58 TR3 (also about $200) and had them both for a while (see below).
Sadly, I needed money for tuition at Trenton State College ($175 per semester for 18 credits), so I sold the MGA (running, but not very well) for $60
I have a very nice '69 MGB street car these days, but I would like another MGA at some point.
