Looking for some recommendations on miata track racing pads for NASA time-trials. Looking at the Hawk DTC-60 right now, but interested in recommendations. Maybe want to run a DTC-60/DTC-70 combo?

Car is a gutted '92 NA with all oem brakes (with Brembo oem replacement rotors). Weight is ~2000 lbs.

Also interested in the Carbotech XP10/12, though not thrilled about the extra cost compared to the Hawks

I run DTC-60s on my E30 race car... They are really great for that particular application. It is around the same weight but I am probably generating quite a bit more heat as its quite a bit faster and has more tire with only marginally more brake. My only concern is that the Miata wouldn't be able to keep them hot enough.

I'd find out what the winners use in spec miata and just go with that.

I ran XP8s on my 94 with street tires and loved them. Never faded and actually worked well on the street even in cold temps. Only downsides were the dusting (but it cleans off easily and doesn't damage wheels) and the squeaking when I drove it on the street. Are you planning on running street tires or r-comps?

no Miata here, but I run XP10's on my CRX (drive it to and from events) work fine on the street and at a-x besides being inberkeleyingcredable on the track.... figure that the CRX is a bit lighter than a Miata (mines ~ 2050 -driver)
