It sounds more positive that previous articles about him going home needing 24/7 care. This sounds like a full recovery is possible - which given the time in a coma - would be nothing short of amazing.
Last thing I read, from a month or so ago, is he's far enough out of a coma to blink his eyes occasionally. Dick Clark "recovered" from his stroke well enough to silently sit in a wheelchair on New Years eve, too.
I really hope I'm wrong.

Saving you a click - MD says that he expects Shumi to recover within 3 years, but does not say to what state he expects him to be at that time. He's no longer in a coma though.
Dick Clark was 100 years old to begin with. Given that Schumacher is younger and in good shape he stands to make a very good recovery.
