I'm not clear on what I'm looking for either. The answer to what car I should buy is "dude, just fix your broken 528e."
But I'm not even in the market for another car anyway.
The answer is to put an M50 into your 528e.
Trust me on this ;)
Even tho it is an SUV, the CX-5 up until 16.5 with the 6 speed manual was a solid driving machine. Not fast by any stretch of the imagination, but moved and handled okay. Mine knocked down low to mid 30s mpg too.

- I can't believe no one has mentioned the FRS/BRZ/86 twi-triplets.
They fit the theme of fun to drive without being overpowered, but not the request for functional back seats.
How cheap are Kia Stingers getting? Are they coming off-lease? First model year was 2018. Does that mean that the used 3 yr leases will be coming around next year? Maybe a little sooner?
RWD and 4cyl manual version available

The new 1-series is about as exciting to drive as taking a poop. Yawn fest.
Disagree. My 135 on Super Sports was a hoot to drive. The turbo grunt everywhere with the quick shifting DCT was a blast.
I'm just done with BMW since the car ended up with what we suspected was rod knock with 32k miles.

I wish the Stinger GT came in a manual . Also it is pretty big - 114.6" wheelbase
