neighbor's got the top of the line Fusion, SEL V6, with 12k on the odo. I think it's an '08.
significantly nicer than the SE I4 rental I had, and i really liked that car. holy crap, this thing scoots! very quiet on the highway, and when a pass is needed, burying the tall pedal made it happen but quick, like 75 - 95 now.
he's a manager at ford and i think it's a lease car. i'd actually consider buying it when it's time for him to turn it in, even though that would make it about 4 years newer than what i was thinking of buying.
I have sung its praise for a little while now. It handles better than any bland grandma looking car has a right to. They are now my default suggestion to people who just need a good car.
If I were to buy one it would be the AWD SEL or a 4cyl 5 speed.
The redesign 2010 is certainly a step up interior wise and the 2.5 4cyl mated to the six speed auto really woke up those ten extra horses.
The only think I wish is that demand was high enough for a manual 6. But it's not to justify the engineering and plant complexity...
BTW, the Fusion Sport has the 3.5l engine. I have a speacial place in my <3 for that engine- did a lot of high tech things on it in my carreer.
