There it is. More complex than one would think.

So it has to seat 4 adults with each getting their own door. It has to be competitive in SCCA street class autocross, which means it has to be classed properly and get tires and stuff.

Go!

The Fiesta ST isn't doing too bad in HS.

That or Focus ST in GS, if you need a little more room.

GS-Focus ST, Mazdaspeed3, GTI

HS-Civic SI

Plenty of new/used options in a few classes to fit.

As was mentioned, WRX and Focus/Fiesta ST are the obvious answers. Some others: BMW E90 M3, VW Golf R & GTI, Ford Focus RS, Mitsubishi Evo.

I'd say try the Forte SX in HS.

Can confirm, WRX was classed pretty generously
(Yes, some butt hurt there, very similar everything to my Evo... that runs in BS)

Civic sedan is your best bet on a budget, Honda kids only care about hatches.

Fiesta ST hands down. It has 80hp on the next-best car, the (non-boosted) Mini. A Fiesta took 2nd, 4th, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19th place at Nationals this year. That's in a car with 2 years development (in the US) going against the Civic and Mini, each with a decade or more development behind them. As more development goes into them, they will be a dominant force Nationally and unbeatable locally.

The SCCA started shipping an HS trophy with "your name here" with the 2016 Fiesta ST.

In reply to pinchvalve:

My limited experience with SCCA says anything that dominant will get reclassed

That was true for last year. It's only 24hp over the Forte SX.

Sounds like they are going to be re-classed very soon..

Really? That's cool. I think that car has potential, they need a sport version with 200hp!

Seats 4 adults I don't think of Fiesta ST. Golf GTI or Focus ST depending if you feel you need a limited slip diff (if so then GTI).

I'm curious what this hot Yaris is going to be like that Toyota is working on. Supposedly it's going to be 200hp and using a supercharger. Basically the engine in the current Lotus Elise (217hp) and the spiritual successor of the 2ZZ-GE.

I'm curious if it will be the curse of America again and we don't get it like usual.

How do you define seating 4 adults? Able to fit into the car or want to sit in the car?

Does the Fiesta really fit the latter category? I have only been in one a time or 2 but don't recall it as having a rear seat that would allow for comfortably fitting 4 adults.
