I need a throttle cable that connects my Mitsubishi 1st gen 4G63 throttle body to the a BMW E30 gas pedal. My Google fu says that people here have suggested Pegasus Racing custom cables but those don't have the ends I need. My local bicycle shop guy was clueless and the pieces I looked at didn't seem like a good basis to kludge something together.
Anyone have a solution for my throttle cable problem? Thanks.
Throttle body
Gas pedal side of OEM bmw cable
Go to your local junkyard and start opening hoods to see what might work? The throttle body end looks pretty standard, any chance of modifying the gas pedal instead?
It's just a bar with a hole that in it on the gas pedal side, I could replace it with a clevis easily enough. The only caveat is that there's only an two inches between that bar and the firewall so I don't have much leeway to add length to the cable.
Stop by your local ATV/motorcycle store, see what they can do.
I stopped at two motorcycle shops today and I learned that the service counter guy at simple street bikes in Eden Prairie MN is a huge jackass and that the only thing bike shops do is order parts from a catalog.
I'll keep digging but I think I'll have to go to custom cable shops next and my hope for finding an answer at a local shop is doomed.

I have this working in my BMW with an engine swap. http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Gasket-5657-Braided-Throttle/dp/B001QVTIM8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426890895&sr=8-1&keywords=universal+throttle+cable
Cool! That looks like it'll do the trick nicely.

In reply to CarRacer:
Yes, just check your length requirements, there is a longer version available somewhere, summit maybe.
i bet a universal ls1 swap cable would work for you, your end looks the same as the one on my 5.3 throttle body.
Lokar, I think, is the hot rod equivalent of what you might want.
JEGS has a page of throttle cable/adapters in their catalog....
Yep - Jeg's, Summit, Speedway Motors.
Also try Flanders Cables http://www.flanderscables.com/ for all kinds of oddball stuff.
I've tried using the Lokar cables a couple times now.
You're better off modifying a factory setup from something else.
The Lokar setups try so hard to fit everything that they suck donkey balls on just about anything.
I recently dealt with this issue by taking the throttle cable made for the motor, cutting off the pedal linkage for the cable taken from the chassis I was transplanting it into, and MIG welding it (on a cool setting) on to the motor's throttle cable once I cut it down to length.
I ended up using the lokar/ mr gasket universal throttle cable with good results. The plastic clip fit the firewall and there was a threaded sleeve on the front that made attaching it to a fabbed up bracket pretty simple. I did trash the included cable ends and make my own though.
Nice clean install there. . . .
worse case you could crimp the bmw pedal side of the cable to the mitsu throttle side of the cable
Those are exactly what I used. It's not my ideal solution but the throttle cable is a relatively low force use case so I figured it'll be fine.

WHat does the TB side of the BMW cable look like? could you just swap out the TB "Cam" or whatever the correct word would be? If orientation is the issue, cut reclock and weld, as I have done on other swaps.
The stock bmw cable wasn't long enough and I'm trying to not modify too many parts, so replacing anything in the future is just a bolt on affair.
