A neighbor has one very like this that needs an engine...hmmm...I wonder...maybe I COULD get back into the Chevy groove...

They won't freakin tell me!
They just say that they pull them from Escalades and other GM trucks. I do know those things turn 6k all day long and don't even whimper.
I wanted an older pick up or Bronco when I bought my Ramcharger. Still want one, but preferably a Ford and it has to be a step side. It also needs to have working 4WD, which is actually a tall order for less than $2,000, which is just my target, not related to anything else.
I want a mud and work truck, but I say go for the hot rod treatment. A good running truck is never a mistake regardless of state of tune.

Nice run! What speeds were you hitting to pull down that average? Stable at speed or squirrelly?
Currently doing this with a 95 Ram. Going the all diesel route, so it's definitely redneck, but tends to surprise quite a few people
I have already posted this in a couple other threads, but I am going to indulge myselg.
Here is my muscle truck, 350 ZZ3, Muncie 4-spd, lots of suspension work, 'nuff said:
Unfortunately, I blew the motor at the dragstrip and it has been languishing in my garage as I focus on trying to make my '89 Mustang LX 5.0 handle... .
That's not my truck: I took the picture. I'm a gate guard at that race, keeping the cows and cowboys off the road during the Big Bend Open Road Race.
According to the 2007 Race Results, they averaged 110.488 on the southbound leg and 117.954 northbound. Tech speed (the speed limit - exceed it and you're disqualified) for the GT1 is 140. There are 60 turns, bends, sweepers, and corners in 59 miles each way, along with some inconvenient hills. In other words, they aren't poking around.

No, I don't think so. Feel free to elaborate and share more pics!
FWIW, I have seen S-10 with a 350 swap for sale many times, dirt cheap. Start with the hard work done, and just refine it.
What is the class these mini trucks ran in? I see a ranger gt, a nissan D21, and the comanche in there.
There was a sport truck racing series awhile back. It wasn't NASCAR. The courses were road courses. I can't remember the name.
Bobby Archer told me a good story one time about running those Jeep trucks in that series.
There was usually a truck with a cheater motor and a truck that won the race. They weren't the same truck. However, the bumpers got plenty of use between the team trucks ;). The one with the big engine would fall to non-tech finishing position somewhere near the end of the race.
