Any idea if the factory stereo/CD player from an 06 Mustang would be plug & play in my 06 P71?
A factory 2006 Ford Focus 6 disk changer replaced the AM/FM in my 2006 F-250 Super Duty as completely plug and play.
Radio of this vintage...
I was outside so I snapped an "after" pic. Was a great $20 value from a JY. I was there for AC controls for a Focus and the Focus only had 45k miles and had been in the yard only 2 weeks.

Looking at those pics, that’s a much larger radio than the P71. I think it’s just double DIN size. I’ll check the Mustang ones & hopefully they’re the same size.
Edit:
Google shows the Mustang stereo is similar to yours from a Focus, while the P71 has this one. It looks about 1/2” shorter in total height to me?
In reply to Pete Gossett :
Go to Crutchfield and see if both cars require the same aftermarket instal kit
In reply to John Welsh :
Thanks! Sadly they don’t share either the harness or mount kit.
I think Crutchfield May need to qualify their reps a bit more thoroughly though...
In reply to John Welsh :
Crutchfield shows a 2-DIN unit will fit without a new center console face, so I wonder if the Mustang unit is a 2.5?
Mustang is a big bigger than 2-Din. If you want something cheap, there are a ton of cheap Android-based touchscreen head units with volume knobs floating around Wish for $40 or so. From what I hear, they're worth a shot.

That’s probably what I’ll end up doing, eventually, in like 2 or 3 years if I still have it. I just had access to a couple free stock Mustang head units & figured if it was p&p I’d do that.
