Building a Challenge car creates an attitude towards finding bargains. I have friends who pushback on my claims about what I pay for things, but they are slowly starting to get it. My most recent purchases are wheels, but they're for my ND and MINIs......all of these were found on FB Marketplace and deals were done with cash.

Rota RBs with tires   17x7.5".....$250

A set of Miata ND take-offs with a little rash  17x7".....$100

A set of Sparco Assettos  17x7".....$90....I spent about 3 hours cleaning brake dust off of these and added $11 for a bottle of Mother's wheel cleaning spray.

And finally, a set of five Sparco Drift  17x7"....$115

While building my 92 Mustang I shopped three different forums.  You had to be quick but I got some amazing deals.  When I moved to the 08 Mustang I made more on the uninstalled parts than on the sale of the car.

As a guy shopping for 11 wheels currently I am jealous of your finds! And some really good sizes too

Just keep looking, and do it frequently. There are people selling stuff really cheap, so you have to react quickly. The other thing I'll add about these four sets of wheels is that I paid the asking price, no dickering. Sometimes people just want stuff out of their garage.

In reply to DeadSkunk (Warren) :

I sniped quite a few parts by sending a direct message to the seller before any contact on a forum.  One guy got all bent about it.

It you see it and like the price just be the first guy to say I'll take it.

GREAT deals!  And those are some seriously good looking wheels, too.

^This. In 2017 I saw an ad on a Miata FB page for a supercharged NB for $1000. I saw it 4 minutes after the seller posted and immediately said I wanted to see it. Within 20 minutes there was a line-up of four other people.  I had cash on hand and was waiting in his driveway when he got home from work. I ended up entering it in the Challenge that year and continued driving it until last summer.
