My damn headlamps

Thanks again for the suggestions guys. Turns out, it was in fact the fuse but the right headlamp needed to be replaced. All in all took about 30 mins. Sometimes it is just something simple.

so the other headlight was just waiting to go?

Yeah, and that in itself is good for a facepalm. My Opel GT headlights were driving me batty trying to figure out why I only had high beams. I mean, what are the odds that both low beams would burn out at the same time? Well, the odds got me that time as replacing both bulbs and the fuse fixed it.

But glad it was simple. Grounds can be very frustrating sometimes.

I did that with my Fiat... was running with the high beams on the highway.. went from one highway to another and went down to the low beams as I was in traffic.. suddenly it got VERY bright out and then nothing...

Voltage surge through the low beams burned them out in seconds.. I was able to drive home on a single highbeam at 2am. Replaced the lights.. never had a problem again

Mad_machine, yep aparentlly the right one decided to give up the ghost about a week after the left one. Here's an interesting factoid, I dug through all the records I have for the car (it was my Dad's and here kept meticulous records) and those were the ORIGINAL headlights, seriously, so they lasted what, about 24 years...
