What is this?

Spyshot

There were four of them, with different camouflage patterns, driving in Lubbock this evening. This one caught the red light just as I got my camera phone out and on. Sorry for the crappy photo.

Could it be one of the Acura or Toyota RWD supercars? BTW these type of pics go for big bucks when they aren't free on the internet.

It kind of looks like a Honda S2000.

I think they go for big bucks when they're printable ... My advice to Mr Slant, If there is testing in your area ... carry a point and shoot digital and set the resolution very high!

That grille is so upright. I say s2000? I'd also copyright your photo & shop it. Challenge money you see.

Lubbock isn't exactly a hotbed for testing, or exotics, or ... much of anything automotive. Which, I suppose, makes it perfect! I have never seen cars camouflaged like that before, at least not in person. Even production cars don't get here very quickly. There are a few new Camaros around, the Challenger took a while, etc.

I often do carry a camera. The camera is for work, but you never know - when Im travelling, it's usually in the passenger seat. Today, I was out with the wife and only had the phone.

They looked larger than S2000's. At first glance I though someone had botched bodywork on a Viper. Then I saw there were several, and realized it was camo.

Since the new S is a couple of years away and they can't even decide the basis for it I'd say it's probably not an S2000 or whatever they are going to call it.

Must be hard to NOT get photographed these days with so many having cell phone cameras.

The rear half looks aweful "Porsche-esque". Maybe a 928 revival?

I saw a CTS coupe with almost no camo in Knoxville almost a year ago but have no proof. That'll learn me to run around without a camera in the car

When you see cars like this on the road, there will often be support vehicles. Check out the make/model of the support vehicles which can often be a give-away to the manufacturer.
If it were a Honda, it may be followed or traveling with a Honda Pilot or Odyssey.

You're right, lots of OEMs do testing in areas like that because there's nobody expecting it there. There are a lot of test tracks in the middle of nowhere out there, ones that 99.9999% of even locals would probably never know about until things like the internet and satellite images. With well done camo, you wouldn't notice the car/bike until it's already come and gone.

Maybe one of you sharp-eyed types can ID the bumper of the SUV behind it. At least I had some form of camera with me ...

Front end makes me think Nissan, the back end looks like a porsche, and the overall proportions favor the S2K. Maybe an unkown something from one od the new far east importers? It does look big, maybe slightly larger than a 350Z?
