How can something that feels so right be so wrong? I want it. Its 10 grand. I still want it. I wan't it even if it doesn't have steering wheel radio control buttons. Since I don't have one, I need you to act as my brain. Am I wrong? How wrong am I? Just semi-wrong, like I drove through a yellow light wrong? Or, you cheated on your wife wrong?
If you can afford it if/when the transmission craps out on you. It's a perfect choice
Beautiful Luxo barge, I'd drive it.
If this was an S600 I could make a case for F1 sounding straight pipe goodness.
A friend had an R500 which used the same transmission (I think) and he was quoted 7k for a transmission rebuild. He pulled it himself and had a local shop rebuild it for him. I think it was still $1,800 pulling it himself. That is much more reasonable though.
Also, I think 10K gets you into an AMG product though.
I think it's "you cheated the mob and now you are going to disappear" wrong.
It's not a bad deal for what appears to be an LWB model. However, I would check to see if the suspension and hydraulic systems are working properly before you buy the car.
If it were an S-600 I'd say go for it, using the logic "If you're going, go big". Don't risk the head aches for an ordinary V8.
BTW I seriously hate M-Bs. Every one I've ever worked on was a giant PITA, and it's not like I don't know my way around eurotrash.
what makes the S600 so much better, does it have a jet engine?
If you want V8 LWB luxury at a GRM price, I've got a 94 740iL here in the PNW.
Fresh black paint, tinted windows, black leather with no rips, fresh suspension, lowering springs and new 18" tires. New aftermarket stereo and backup camera.
$3K obo
Does that have the ABC? I dont think I'd touch that even with someone else's money.

It does:
Then you add these:
And the end result is this:

Can you imagine showing up at a trackday with a car that sounds like this? I'd do it.

Yeah but does it have a jet engine?

Couldn't get your link to work
That is a $6500 car on a good day. The good day is the one you didn't buy it anyway.
If you can afford to buy that car an then fix it, you can afford to buy a new one.
I have driven both and I really wanted to like the MB better. But in the end the BMW was the one I would drive every day if both were in my driveway.

I believe there are also issues where the ECUs (yes plural) can fail if the drain tubes get full and it floods the pax floor. That basically totals the car since the ECUs cost a few thousand each....
