I posted a while back how I found a running and driving '90 Miata for $300 and quickly scooped it up for my 15 year old son. The issues it had were no title and a nasty kink in the right front frame rail. The plan was for him to learn to wrench (he's taking shop class in high school later this year) and turn it into an autox/HPDE car for him. He was excited, but after a month or so the reality sank in that without a title he'd never be able to drive it on the street. I looked into getting one for it and even in GA it wouldn't have been easy, if at all possible. So he decided he wanted to get something that had a title. I helped him sell the Miata on CL and he made a profit. His investment in the car beyond the $300 was plugs/wires and a lot of elbow grease time to clean it and make it look nice.
Thanks to incredibly kind forum member AnthonyGS, my son took his money and I pitched some of my money in, and he is now the proud owner of a '94 Mustang GT. It runs, drives, is straight and has a title. I can't thank Anthony enough for working with me and giving my son a great deal on the car, including some parts. GRM members are utterly spectacular folks!!! I drove to Louisiana on Friday and me Anthony on Saturday morning. Put the car on a dolly and brought it home. My son is super excited. We took it for a ride up and down the street yesterday and his grin was ear to ear. Let the fun begin!!! First order of business is new battery cable and installing the center console. I'll start a build thread.
