Even though I've worked here for over 16 years, and explained GRM / CMS countless times---- my friends are always like " Oh, big weekend for you huh? Spending the whole week at the track?" They don't do this before the Rolex--- which is a big weekend where I spend my time at the track. It's always NASCAR. To non- car people, the only racing they think of is NASCAR---- at least down here.
I guess the NASCAR marketing folks should be proud......

The Speedway and the 500 are synonymous to a lot of people, and NASCAR casts a big shadow.
I guess I've dealt with this in some way all of my life. My first career was racing horses, so everyone thinks of the Kentucky Derby. That's my photo in my avatar, definitely not the same thing as thoroughbred racing.

Funny--- one of my first autocross events was in the parking lot of Hawthorne Park outside of Chicago----they used to run harness / chariot racing. Not sure if they still do....
