Thanks for the heads up this was on !!
Thanks for the reminder, really wanted to catch it this year! Unfortunately, we don't seem to get FS2 here, so no live broadcast, because Comcrap, but it's airing at 9.
Up until the mid 60's they did drive on Dirt, USAC carried it on Longer than NASCAR.the Unsers AJ Foyt Parnelli Jones Most of the Indy car Drivers did it.

yes but not in a 3200 lb. car with a 112 inch wheelbase.
I was there, for the fifth time. Good race in between the cautions. It was hot and dry and we ate a lot of dirt. Put this on your bucket list, it is the only NASCAR race we attend.

I think is my favorite race to watch on TV, and seeing it live must be awesome. I love it, from the local high school band performing the anthem, to the "unknown" dirt track drivers going fender-to-fender with NASCAR's best.
Getting a little sidetracked here, but how many of you guys are aware that the ARCA series races on dirt about 2 or 3 time a year?
Back when the Cups ran a lot more races, they ran a lot of dirt tracks. One local 1/2 mile. Richard Petty won.
Raced at Dixie When It Was Asphalt, 1970-71, they made it Dirt I don't under stand all the Potholes, but those cars are so fast.3/8 HIGH Bank
It's the Red Clay Dust that Keeps me away.In that ARCA photo no dust. after the Show at Dixie even the cars in the Parking Lot are Red, Last time I looked in they would Diamond the corner and it was like two short Drag races each Lap, I didn't enjoy it.
