NB Miata Roll bar wedding present?

My good friend and co-driver for One Lap is getting married in 6 weeks. I'm a fan of nontraditional wedding presents (a shotgun and a lawn mower for instance) and would like to get him a roll bar for his NB Mazdaspeed Miata. This car will never go wheel to wheel but will see some DE track time.
Having never owned a Miata, I don't pay attention to these sorts of things, so I need your help deciding before I order it in the next couple of days.

As long as you gift wrap it and set it on the present table. Make sure it's OBVIOUSLY a roll bar. Because it will be funny. I gave a friend of mine a E36 M3pile of nerf and his wedding card in spanish- It was more personal in that way.

I didn't wrap the shotgun. Just set the big green Remington box on the table. Didn't even get a card. It was awesome.
I'm having this put in for him. His "bachelor party" is going to be a track weekend the weekend right before his wedding. If I somehow can't get it installed before that, I'm totally just bringing it in and setting it on the gift table.

So my research leads me to believe that either the Hard Dog M2 Hard Core bar or the Boss Frog Clearview are the way to go. I can't see a clear winner between the two, so I need your opinions.
And yes, the future Mrs. is pretty much fine with this. She's a special girl. :)

I'd go with the Hard Dog. I don't have any experience with the Boss Frog but the HD bars are good quality and fairly easy to install.

Six of one, half dozen of another. IIRC from when I was looking, the M2 puts the bar as high up as possible. Just spring for the padding and cover so he doesn't get brain hammered in a rear-ender.

Stellar Idea, I gave a friend of mine a floor jack and chipped in on a welder for is wedding gift. His wife was nonplussed to see them on the gift table.

Dont also discount BlackBird Fabwerks in your search.

Remember, there's differences between soft top and hard top and also NA and NB soft tops when it comes to roll bar fitment. IMO you should get the tallest one that fits the options he has thats also SCCA and NASA legal.
