Its funny to think there was a time that Porsche had to convince people they made good cars!

Say that again after driving a 964. What a hunk of junk.

(I say that, but I still want an RS America)

Myboss bought an early model 911. Arounf '75 I think. He said the cluth pedal was sticking and would I take a look at it. VW pedal assembly. The paint had not been cleaned off the pivot shaft.
Noted the VW window crank handles. Gave me a low opinion of Porsche.

Yeah, they suck, IMHO, but that white one looks so damn nice I might look past it for a bit...

why? they were a low volume seller at the time and the VW stuff was both cheap and robust.

Any chance you could convince the seller how much his car sucks so I can get a better deal?

Keep telling people that so I can keep finding them cheap. As soon as the word gets out that as long as you know what you are looking for you can get 993 performance with 911 looks for well under $20k I am afraid they will run up prices like E30 M3s. Ofcourse... that wouldn't hurt the resale on my daily-driver 964 either ;)

I need to clear an hour of my schedule to watch all five of these. Thanks for the link!

I just finished all five of them. That was awesome. There's a great scene about seven minutes into part 4 where one of the mechanics lays on his back under the car and lifts the transmission assembly into place with his knees!

The price comparison. Expensive car should not be using economy car parts.. I think that the pedal assy being installed with paint on the shaft is what turned me off.
