New guy here. Liking it so far! Are the new Land Rover Discoverys any good? Anyone care to share their success/fails on the brand? It's down to this or the Audi Q5 for SWMBO. Thanks....

They're pretty good. The interiors feel a bit cheap and the infotainment sucks, but they've been really good mechanically. Get a 2017, as they have more spot welds in the b-pillars to make the thing feel more solid and to quell vibrations.

I think you need to be more specific. New, used? Etc.

Sorry about that. Yes new, I'm hung up on the dealer starting the warranty when the car "is put in service" and I want the warranty to start when I take possession, but I'll work that out. My memory recalls past Land Rovers/Jaguar owners as saying have a second car as a backup and make it a tow truck....

honestly, other than the usual catastrophic engine failure in 2003 (all the old 4.6s were ticking time bombs) my Disco has been solid aside from usual wear and tear. Even with the engine failure, I still drove it to the shop that did the replacement (going through 20 gallons of water in the process)

The VP at my last job bought a new one. That had to be like a 2014 model. The dealership is >100 miles away. He had a CEL come on. He called them up, they came with an enclosed 18 wheeler, picked it up, fixed it and delivered back to him under warranty.

Thanks for the time to comment. Leaning this way if I can work out the warranty....
