If it is like the R53, I think they actually spot welded the tub THROUGH the sealer It is as if they spackled the weld area with thick adhesive before assembly, spot welded the tub, then smoothed it over while still wet.
100% penetration between panels when trying to drill out the spot welds to remove panels.
That would complicate things. Still the OP needs to get as much of the sealer out of the weld as he can.

Thank you for the detailed information very helpful, what I don't understand is step 8, you said do a backing plate but how am I going to do backing plates for the nuts of they are not going to touch with the body? The bolts on the rear holes is fine I can do a backing plate for them and sandwich everything together.
Yes I am going to remove the sealer grind everything neatly before welding.

I dont know but what I know is that sealer is extremely difficult to remove, I'm having a hard time grinding it down.

You're welcome. I'm suggesting that you use a backing plate on just the rear holes.
