In reply to Contradiction:

I've never seen an SN95 Mustang not have rock chips right behind the front wheels like that, repaint or not. They did the door jambs and trunk, but not under the hood. It's not a creampuff by any means (needs paint work, front seat covers, steering wheel cover, A/C vents, some other trim), but then neither is my car (oil leaks, needs all seat covers, interior installed, tons of bodywork and paint).

There is a mechanical catch, 3rd gear is out in the Cobra. My buddy has offered his car and $1,000 to cover a trans in exchange for the Javelin as-is (he doesn't want all the new performance parts for it, he's putting it back to stock-ish). The Cobra uses the same T45 that all GT Mustangs did from 96-02, so I should be able to find a good used unit and have it installed, and maybe squeeze in some seats with his cash on top. Plus then I could sell all of performance parts (Edelbrock Performer intake, MSD Pro Billet distributor & ignition system, COMP cam & valvetrain, Hedman headers, supporting miscellany).

It's a tough decision.

The Cobra has a ton of mods! BBK CAI and LT headers, midpipe and Flowmasters with dumps, lowered, drilled/slotted rotors, MSD coil packs and wires, Canton overflow tank, Gripp C/C plates, Eibach sway bars, and a super stiff clutch. That's just what I could see, who knows what's lurking inside and underneath. It's fast, too. And not just in a straight line, this thing could smoke the Javelin around an AX and a track.

Sounds like you are tired of the Javelin. Who cares what others say? Which will you have more fun in? I haven't regretted selling the SVO for a single moment. Jcamper

They can be surprisingly fun and speedy.

Oh I drove it man, it would absolutely smoke the Javelin on the AX and in a drag race. Icing on the cake: Dad will buy all of my spare parts.

I think I'll pick it up tomorrow...

Ridiculous clutch is probably an adjustable aftermarket clutch cable. Put this kit on and you'll thank me: http://www.maximummotorsports.com/Clutch-Cable-Quadrant-and-Firewall-Adjuster-Package-P385.aspx

My '92 notch had an aftermarket clutch cable adjuster on it that was garbage, and the pedal was incredibly stiff. I installed the MM kit, and pedal feel went back to stock.

Figure out which springs were used for lowering. The only ones I would really consider are H&R. I used to have BBK springs on mine and going to H&R "Race" was a huge transformation. Many lowering springs take it too low and mess up the front geometry and send the roll center subterranean.

Ditch the drilled rotors before you do a track day with it.

In reply to Apexcarver:

The sways are Eibach, so I would assume Eibach as well, but I'll have to get it up on a lift to find out for sure. The drilled rotors look like StopTech ones, which I have tracked before. If they aren't, then they will be soon!

I used to be P71, and before that I was TurboCoupe. Given my proclivity for changing cars though, maybe I should go with Mazda5 or WheelerDealer.
