Now that I finally have my terms straight, here's my newest question . . .
With the new needle check valve dropped in under the discharge nozzle, is there supposed to be a spring installed under the screw before it's tightened down, or does the assemble only have the needle valve, then discharge nozzle then the screw fitted?
This is becoming more of a lifestyle than a carb rebuild; so many questions, so little brain left in my head.
Thank you,
T
Discharge nozzle is a funny term.
Yeah, I kinda like it too. Good name to call someone in mock anger.
But I gotta say, this "rebuild" is becoming anything but funny. I didn't realize that I was starting with a slightly incomplete carb, makes me question every open threaded hole and bent bracket. I'm STILL not entirely sure if the metering block ought to have emulsion tubes inserted.
Next time I'm gonna HAVE to start with a poorly running carb rather than a "found it down in a friend's cellar" model for sure.
I had a discharge from my nozzle, but some penicillin cleared it right up.
Oh, wait... wrong board.
The needle has no springs etc, its weight keeps it in place.
what does the 'sploded diagram in the kit show?
Tom, just give up and snag one of the many I have in the garage. A couple of those ones with nonadjustable floats have barely any time on them. Totally the wrong carb for a TR8, but someone we know just keeps on selling them.
"what does the 'sploded diagram in the kit show? "
Didn't come with one, and the ones on line are too small or crude to be of any use. Streetwiseguy says, "Just gravity." and since that's what I wanted to hear, I'm going with it ! !
Todd,
The ones with the non-adjustable floats are not worth the trouble. Do me a favor and bring me the one that's similar to the one in the TR8 when you bring the hoist back, OK? I'll rebuild it and run with that.
Hey all, how do I set the needle and seat/float level?
wait.. they sell carb kits that don't have a thorough instruction book with exploded diagrams for not only the whole carb, but each individual step now?
i don't want to live in this world any more..
