Ive had about a 25% success rate with reman pumps lately. All cardone.
Id probably go new if tbe price difference isn't staggering.
In reply to 759NRNG :
Remanufactured for the Bravada. We just had the power steering pump rebuilt by the dealer on the Odyssey at 270K with no issues.

Price diff is twiced and will do so if necessary......do these pumps puke at the the hose connections or the front pulley bearing wouldathoughit?

I 'm up against a time frame continuum....otherwise that would be a consideration......uh like I'm leavin' this Friday for BH'am Ala...
New if in your budget, used(car-part.com) if not. If you really need the practice doing the R&R on the p/s pump, then go reman(Cardone sucks).
10 years ago I thought the talk about Reman stuff not being as good was way overblown. Most of the failures I saw were installer error. Ive changed positions on that in the last few years. Quality seems to be tanking. You can see it in the retailers constantly switching suppliers trying to get better stuff.
I went trough 3 different brand reman master cylinders on my GMT400. Youd think after almost 30 years of a super common truck where most of them are repaired with parts house parts, theyd knoq how to rebuild a master cylinder. 2 of them started bypassing real quick and 2 of them leaked at the reservoir grommets. I finally waiting the couple days to get a GM one and it quick leaking, and the pedal feels good. We will see in a couple thousand miles if it starts bypassing soon.
In your case, if its 40 vs 80 id go OE, but if its 150 vs 300 Id probably get an aftermarket if they will give me a lifetime warranty and refund, not credit, if it dies, and give it one try before i went OE. If your biggest concern is time, and you never have time to work on it just go OE.

The seal is fairly easy to replace and needs all of the same tools as replacing the pump. The hose connections are not even related to the pump
I have 100% never had a good reman power steering pump. I will reseal before I replace. I have even had bad luck with new ones. Usually the method of being crap is being louder than the pump I took out, but I did have one that built zero pressure. Given that I replaced the pump because I suspected it had zero pressure, and it was a pump from Ford, I began to seriously doubt my diag process so spent about two hours trying to fangle up a way to check power steering pressure with the tools, fittings, and raw materials I had available to me. And it was a bad pump. At least I got good at replacing Powerstroke power steering pumps...
While you don't have the time now, I would check with KRC Pumps to see if they have a pump that would work. Their pumps are very good and they did alot with the GM style pumps before making their own design. Gimp still has one of their earlier setups on his car, that I put on the engine I sold him.
While usually I would say new over rebuilt, only the Delco reman alternators have lasted a decent while on my CTS-V, the new one failed in one month. Definitely stay away from Cardone rebuilds, I swear the drunken monkeys would do a better job than they do.

Back when I was slinging auto parts myself in the early 00's, I needed a wiper motor for my Trans Am. Cardone was the only manufacturer I could get one from at the store with my discount. I went through NINE of them before I got one that worked out of the box. Most of them looked like they were plucked from junkyards and spray painted black, right over the grease and dirt.
Rebuilt is fine, but just say NO to Cardone. I can't believe they are still in business.
I've gone with a Master Pro reman from O'Reilly's....limited lifetime yadda yadda ....the old pump had a mounting ear missing uh along with said mounting bolt.....local chevy dlr had the factory bolt $1.89.....leaking appears to be from reservoir to pump attachment not the line connections......fingers crossed. Actually used a pulley puller that I scored from a swap meet years ago (5) worked as instructed yea team......putting the belt back on is a PITA.....I don't care what manual is out there for DIY... I defy you to pull this out of it's spot and disconnect the lines without removing the W/W reservoir/air intake. This calls for a Rolling Rock
If it makes you feel better, theres a masterpro reman pump in the passengers seat of my truck right now for install tomorrow after work. My pump E36 M3 the seal out behind the pulley leaving the ls guys place with nascar wheels tonight. And i didn't have a spare....
