I just picked up set of (barely) used 911 wheels. They have 100 miles on them. I own another set of the same wheels, but I'm always astonished by how massive they look without tires.
Nice - it's hard to see for sure from this angle, but are they 996 Carrera / "MY02" wheels? I've been casually looking for a set myself.
That's neat if you can use them on your 911, what really pisses me off is why don't Porsche, Bmw, and mercedes use the same bolt pattern. They make adapter plates to run those Fuchs on a mercedes, but I always have like alpinas used on the bmw.
Good luck with it and hopefully they fit. For mercedes at least wheels seem to be backwards compatable(with spacers) but not forwards compatable

Porsche uses a huge bolt pattern. I think it is 5x130mm. BMW uses 5x120 for comparison.
A question though.. anybody ever put panasports on a 911? I am thinking that my next (and last) car is going to be a mid-eighties 911. I think those came with 15inch rims (maybe 16s) and I would not mind going larger, but I do not want to run modern porsche rims on it
You don't need Panasports. There are several more authentic mini lite style wheels that fit 911s. It's not uncommon to see those on the rear with Fuchs on the front.
In reply to Woody:
Why do Porsche drivers do that? I've seen numerous 911 rally cars with the mixed Minilite/Fuchs combo over the years.
It's a nostalgia thing. Back in the day there were very few really wide alloys and fewer still in the odd Porsche bolt pattern. Racers would buy the fattest lightest rear wheels they could find. Fuchs were light and strong and fine for the front. Me, I'd prefer having all four wheels match.
Me,too. I think an early 911 on four Minilites looks right. Damn near anything looks right on Minilites ,or their clones.
Porsche didn't make a wheel wider than 7" in 1970/71, so many people (including the Factory) used the minilites in the rear. On my early 911 rally car "tribute", I actually run Torque Thrusts (ala the Milestone 911).
