For 20 years, the only way to get a coveted $2000 Challenge sticker was to build a car and bring it to the event.

Until now: We've just added $2000 Challenge stickers to the GRM store. They're even available in a few different sizes.

Do I need a new toolbox?

Only if it's going to have less than $2,000 worth of tools in it, including the cost of the box itself.

For his order, it's a good thing they changed the format to not have a specific year on the sticker.

Hear me out a second. Because I'm not disagreeing, however having a strong interest in stage rally I'm very aware that one of the shortcomings is not having a proper feeder system. We all know several people who would participate in the challenge if they lived within 200 miles of it. And the answer is not relocating the challenge or doing a rotation of where it's held each year, because then who's going to build a car that they're only going to be able to use to compete in the event once every 5 or 6 years. However if somebody has a build that is within the rule set and fits the mold and the challenge has served as motivation for them to do so and they autocross locally and they slap a sticker on their car and it starts a conversation and other people who get tired of chasing the must-have mods and products and chassis within their chosen class decide (possibly quite foolishly) that doing a challenge legal build would simplify things and challenge them in a different sort of way at the local autocross level, then that's a good thing. As I'd suspect that 1 in every 7-9 of those persons would actually potentially become a challenge participant at some point. It would still be a very niche event within relatively small fishbowl, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that fishbowl becoming larger. Attention for the event is absolutely a good thing.

i'm simultaneously honored and horrified, but i like where this thread has gone.  someday i'll get another Challenge sticker, but it won't be bought through the online store.

If I send my car with somebody else to pilot it, so my vehicle goes to the challenge but I don't, is that an acceptable loophole to purchase a sticker?

That's not a loophole, because it's your car.

In reply to AngryCorvair (Forum Supporter) :

It is, but if I'm not going and the competitor who is taking my car opts to keep the sticker (which they'd have the right to for competiting in the event) then in order for me to get a decal, I'd have to purchase it through the site. This is actually a real scenerio and I'm totally using it to play devil's advocate as well.

In reply to captdownshift (Forum Supporter) :

I would suggest that they only have the "right" to keep the sticker if they paid the entry fee. Otherwise, it is your sticker and you're giving it to that person. And I'm totally deflecting with that answer.

Then you tear the sticker in half, and you each get a tattoo of the half of the sticker you chose. Like Tenac and iousD.

Since Angry won't be coming down to sunny Florida, I added Challenge hoodies to the store. Hope these help keep you warm!

Those are perfect. The hoodie is great for keeping one warm on a chilly Michigan fall evening and the pouch holds 10mm enough that you think that they're secure, until you forget that they're in there and climb under the car and roll around and they inevitably roll out on the ground and get yeeted into eternity when slinging a breaker bar down in disgust.
