This Ford thing with the old Mustang and old Bronco sheet metal being reauthorized got me thinking. What other classic cars would you like to see re-issued by the factory? I'm thinking the 240Z and GT6 go right to the top of the pile. Any others?

I'd love to see new first gen Celica bodies, but I know there is, in now way, a large enough market for that.
But 240Z is getting there, and quite possibly will be the first Japanese car with a replacement body that is offered.

I hope so...they are beautiful. Like Clarkson said
"It was a very simple recipe: three parts e-type jaguar, two parts corvette, and a sprinkling of Japanese reliability. Fabulous car." - Jeremy Clarkson on 240z, Top Gear Season 4, ep 8
Most, if not all, GT6 body bits are already available.
As much as I'd like to see something from across an ocean get reproduced, there are still a number of muscle cars to get through first. I'd bet the '68-'70 Charger is in the works.

I don't even want to think about this...

What, no RX-2? The RX-2 was much prettier than the RX-3. Those sexy round taillights, those flowing rear quarters... excuse me, I have to go now. I'll be back a little later!
I'd love for someone to start stamping out MGB bodies that cost less than the ~10 grand I got quoted for a replacement shell for my BGT. It would save so much time and spare the world my hideous welds.
None of the above. They would be bigger, fatter, insulated, air bagged, OSHA'd, air conditioned and lacking the characteristics and personality of what we remember.
Pass.

Negative, not "Neo-Retro" but actual reproduction bodies to REPLACE that which needs replacing.
Might be a little bit heavier if done with nice steel, and a couple of modern "updates" to help make "corrections" to a flimsy chassis. But made so that all stock parts bolt on. Every dimension is identical.

you... bastard...
I knew the Challenger was coming, but I didn't know they had been released. Given that, I'd imagine the Cuda won't be far behind. Considering it's getting hard to find a Charger that even remotely in one piece for less than $10K, I really would be surprised if that body isn't available in a few years.
