Yep. Went and got myself a "birthday present". 1994 Honda Civic DX, manuel , manual everything (windows, mirrors). It has a tuuuurible repaint job on it, but mechanically it is good to go. Air works, heat works, new tires. The clutch and throwout bearing was just replaced, but the linkage is kinda funky on it. Where neutral would be on a normal car is where 2nd and 4th is. I'm assuming I just need to adjust it. Window regulator needs to be replaced since the window is off track. Brakes are a bit soft, think they need to be bled since the guy says he just replaces the pads and rotors. Other than that, it's a runner! Oh, smells to high heaven of "the green ganja". Need to get that smell out.
So, GRM'ers, learn me any tips, suggestions, comments, queries, ect. on the EG family. I had a EG hatch before in my short life, but I was young and dumb and sold it within 3 weeks of getting it. I plan on holding onto this one for a bit longer.
Plans are well off into the future, but would like to do a decent suspension setup on it and a set of wheels. Other than that, just going to get me to work and home.
I love mine.
If it is manual wind windows remove the door panel and there should be a bolt for the window track and you can undo that and get the window back on track (at least that is how my old EK was). I have BMW bottlecaps on mine (I got them for free). Going to put Konis and some Neuspeed lowering springs on it soon. The stock seats suck donkey balls btw.

Thanks! I think a set of Slipstreams would be alright. I'll pull the door panel off tomorrow when I get a chance to see if I can get the window back in line.
I have black cloth Integra GSR seats in really good shape if you're interested. They bolt right in. Big improvement over the stock seats (little more side bolster and adjustable lumbar support). I'm in Chicago tho so IIRC too far away for you to pick up.
Buy a short shifter. They're so cheap and come with new bushings etc. Totally worth it. When suspension time comes get the Koni Yellow/GC setup. Wheels? There are lots of factory options and assloads of affordable lightweight aftermarket wheels since it's 4x100.
I love mine as well. Bleeding the brakes and replacing the wheel cylinders along with good fluid will help improve brake feel. The quality of the front pads will also influence brake feel. The shifter issue will most likely be a bushing issue as it uses rod linkage and there is no built in adjustment. You can pick up urethane bushings for very little and it is a relatively easy job depending on rust. The DX responds incredibly well to sway bars as it came stock with none. The AutoX and aftermarket community for them is huge. I bought mine as a college commuter 11 years ago and ended up with a great entry level ST Auto X car. I have HR sport springs with KYB adjustable shocks if I were to do it over again I would go Ground Control with Konis.
It really depends on what you want to do with it. Just my two cents but wheels/tires and swaybars will get you a fun daily driver.

I'll have to message you about those GSR seats. I have a fixed back racing seat I took out of my race car, so I might use that. I see that seat brackets are only $20 or so from eBay, so I might go that route.
Already got my steering wheel adapter for my Sparco.
Short shifter eh? Shifter bushings? I'm sure that is an eBay item/s as well.
I'll take a look at the brakes this weekend and see if Anti-Stance can pump while I bleed to see if it cures the soft pedal.
Slipstreams are a good choice. I have the elusive TR motorsport C1 on my civic.
Oh! And enjoy getting 35mpg average!

Coming from a Ford Edge, getting 20mpg at best, I can't wait!
I love mine. Chances are the bushings are shot in your shifter. Energy Suspension has a kit you can order at Autozone for less than 15 bucks. If the shifter is still sloppy try one of these, http://www.d-series.org/forums/product-reviews/143271-rc-autoworks-no-slop-shift-linkage.html.
Your suspension bushings are more than likely toast as well. Before doing anything as far as springs replace the bushings and the shocks. It will make a huge difference. Also, don't go for the Energy suspension kit. The durometer isn't high enough for off axis motion of that fancy double wishbone suspension and E36 M3 wears out in about 2 years of normal driving. This is a much better option, http://www.hardrace.com/products.asp?strClass1=11&strClass2=22.
Lastly I have an AirMass header, low mileage cat and a 2.25" Apex'i WSII exhaust if you're interested. I also have the parts to fab up a 2.25" collector for the header which will net you more power.
Parts are cheap and everywhere. Have with the car!
Don't do an eBay short shifter. That's one thing to not get knockoff. I've had one fail (break off right above the ball... Instant no shift) and had a buddy's do the same too. Get a "name brand" one
Fer sure, brah. Teh b00sts + lightening + whiskey + whiskey + whiskey =

What is the price of their kit? That website kinda sucks.
Also a set of '98 Integra seats will fit in an EG right? IIRC they will but just double checking before I decide to buy a seat which are near me.
Here's what you need, http://www.buyhardrace.com/product/hardrace-suspension-bushing-kit-92-95-civic-eg-us-spec_48.html
And yes the Integra seats are a bolt in affair

I like those cars. Wouldnt mind having one but if im spending money ill get a Del Sol. Haters gonna hate..
One thing i will say about those cars is they are FOR modifying. Having a stock EG coupe is semi-pointless imo. Not saying anyone WOULD leave one stock, just pointing it out.
Good luck removing that smell, especially if there is a big stain on the floor somewhere. The only way I would buy a car like that is if I had a very cheap line on a clean interior.

Just have fun with it and don't make it too pretty or it'll get stolen.
As for the odor, douse it in Meguiar's Odor Remover, let it dry, scrub in some Blue Coral Upholstery Cleaner on everything, wet everything down with a mist of water and use an extractor to pull out the liquid. Let dry again and see if it's tolerable.
Its not just the smell, its that stoners have a tendency of inadvertently filling every nook and cranny of a car with bits of weed, seeds, stems, resin, and trichomes(hash). You'll never get all of that out. Once it's been owned by a stoner, it will always be a rolling evidence bin, no matter how thoroughly cleaned.
Few quirks with it:
Dash Lights won't come on. Figured out it's a faulty dimmer switch that needs to be tapped to get them to come on.
Brake pedal was soft, so I decided to try and bleed the brakes. Found there is a small hole in the brake line. Gonna price up a set of braided lines.
Speedo is 10mph off, as in it says I'm do 80 when I'm actually doing 70.
Seat, as quoted earlier by 93EXCivic, are TERRIBLE. I had to put a seat cushion from an outdoor patio set on the seat to make it easier on my bum.
Other than that, car is a runner, driver and gets AWESOME mileage!

Mine is off by about 5 mph at that speed.
I might have a set of EBC Greenstuff pads for that model lying around if you need them (not fantastic pads, but probably better than what's on there). I'll have to sort through my squirrel stash of EG civic stuff. If interested, they will cost you a sum total of 6 craft beers of your choice.
BTW - congrats on picking it up! I miss my old EG hatch. I think I say that every two weeks or so around here.
I'll dig around when I get home tonight.

PM me too with whatever DukeOfUndersteer doesn't want. I have a few parts I could use.
