James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond are out at the BBC’s “Top Gear.” It looks like the trio will be replaced by “Life on Mars” actor Philip Glenister, Jodie Kidd from “Classic Car Show” and racer and TV personality Guy Martin.
The U.K.’s Sunday Express is reporting that BBC2, the channel on which “Top Gear” airs, is looking to close the deal quickly after the loss of the current presenters.
The show’s co-creator, Andy Wilman, also quit. He was overheard talking about the new lineup with noted car guy Jay Kay and his band Jamiroquai.

Andy Wilman quoted as saying "I'm not going down with that ship"
I dont see this lasting long, but who knows.
I'll believe it when the BBC makes an official announcement. Until then it's all speculation. I do like Guy Martin, but if he's in they'll need subtitles.

There was Top Gear before Jeremy, and there is Top Gear after Jeremy. I'll give it a shot. Treat everything as new and go in with a fresh look and thought.
In reply to stuart in mn:
I was just thinking that - I love when Guy gets going on a subject but only catch about half of what he says in one pass. Subtitles won't work - where the heck will they find a steno writer that can understand him?
I'm not familiar with the new people, but I do welcome the change. I thought the show had become rather stale. The old crew was very entertaining in their time, but the same old schtick had run its course.
That's surprising, I thought the BBC was going to re-hire Jeremy and get the old crew back together later, following a plan that had been laid out by clever lawyers soon after the punches were thrown.

In a way, it seems like they're copying the US TG host selection: two TV personalities and a "racer-dude". I'm guessing Philip Glenister will end up playing the "buffoon" character like Adam here.
Did US TG get cancelled yet? I don't have TV, so I don't really pay attention...

I hate when that happens.
I love Guy Martin. He crashes better than anyone else.
I've no idea if any of it's true, but I like Philip Glenister. Check out 'Life on Mars' (the UK version) and the follow up 'Ashes to Ashes' as well as 'For the love of cars'. All can be found with a bit of looking. He's not JC, but he's a personality.
I think it needs to be an entirely different show. If they try to copy what they did in the past it will not work.
I loved the US version of Life on Mars right up until the end. Ashes to Ashes was great. Loved the retro characters and the Audi Quattro
I suspect this is a controlled leak to see what kind of reaction they get from releasing these names. In any case, I'll give it a shot. At worst I lose an hour of my time.
I can understand Guy Martin. But only after copious amounts of alcohol.

And it will still need time to develop. Similar to US TG, where it was so easy to dismiss it because the scripted interplay between the hosts seemed forced at times. While we liked to believe the British version was more off-the-cuff, we've since learned it was scripted as well. After the first few episodes of the new UK version, the US version may start looking better.
We'll just have to wait and see.
I've never had a problem understanding most UK regional accents, but I've watched Brit-coms and various other BBC productions since I was very young, so I've grown up with those accents.
Guy Martin is guaranteed to bring in the female demographic too

Agreed, but I probably won't watch it. I don't really give that much of a crap about cars I'll never be able to buy being driven in places I'll probably never go. I watched for the personalities and the interplay, and frankly, that has been getting tired for at least the last several seasons. Forced setups are no better than forced banter.
